Zero Waste Plan

Zero Waste is defined as the conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning, and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.

In 2017, the ASWC Student Senate and President’s Sustainability Advisory Board endorsed the adoption of the ASWC Zero Waste Plan. The Zero Waste Plan is a policy document that outlines strategies and guidelines for achieving the goal of mitigating Whitman’s solid waste by 90% by 2030.
