ASWC is the student government organization of Whitman College, and seeks to enhance student life by voicing your concerns, supporting your projects, and fueling your passions. Every student of Whitman College is a member of ASWC and can participate in ASWC-sponsored events, programs, lectures, clubs, and media organizations. ASWC handles a large budget for many student activities, makes and influences campus policy decisions, and represents the student body in key institutional dialogues. All of this work is only possible through the work of concerned students who seek to utilize ASWC as a tool for improving the impact of the college on its students, the community, and the world.
ASWC directly influences virtually all areas of student life at Whitman via funding or other forms of support and regulation. If you are part of a club, Club Sports, the Organic Garden, KWCW, quarterlife, Waiilatpu, The Wire, Blue Moon, the Interest House Community, or have attended an event which used Sound and Lights or was organized by WEB, you have interacted with ASWC.
ASWC is comprised of appointed and student-elected members, including but not limited to Senators, the President, the Vice President, the Executive Council and their committees, and, most importantly, you! ASWC relies on the input of the student body to ensure that we are best serving the students of Whitman College.
